Our History. Our Values.
C and D Drugstore was opened in August 1958 by Clarles Oates and Dale Walker. The name C & D stands for Charles and Dale. C & D Drug Store's location has housed a drug store since 1877 making it one of the oldest drug stores in Arkansas. In 1984, the store underwent a major renovation and expanded into the area that formerly housed Carpenter's Jewelry. Also, included in the expansion was the snack bar at the drug store. It currently seats 36 and is a popular lunchtime spot for employees from the Pope County Courthouse and other downtown businesses. Another remodel and update to the store occurred in 2004. These changes incorporated a pharmaceutical compounding area allowing the drug store to custom compound medications for patients. C and D is one of the few compounding pharmacists in the area.
Pharmacist R.D. Walker is honored to win Best Pharmacist for 2008. From the beginning, the motto of C & D Drug Store has been "courtesy and service". This attitude continues today. The pharmacists and staff of C & D make an effort to get to know every customer and take care of all their medicine needs. They genuinely want to improve the lives of their customers. Walker stated, "At C&D, we think we have the best customers in the world. They have been very loyal to our store for many years."
